Camp begins Saturday, February 15, 2014

Start times are the following:

1st Group: (8-12 yrs of age) begins at 9:30 AM

2nd Group:  (13-17 yrs of age) begins at 1 PM

3rd Group: (+18 yrs of age) begins at 3 PM

NFL PLAYERS INTRODUCE AMERICAN FOOTBALL IN BRAZIL

WITH A HUMANITARIAN MESSAGE

 

American Football Without Barriers is taking its mission to spread football to underprivileged communities with a humanitarian message helping globalize the sport of American Football.

 

After a successful camp in China in March of 2013, American Football Without Barriers (AFWB) is headed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition to international camps, AFWB hosts several camps in the U.S. aimed at helping underprivileged kids play the sport of football. This year, 14 active NFL athletes representing four different NFL teams and 1 CFL player will be making the trip to Brazil to continue to AFWB’s mission.

 

During the February camp, AFWB staff will volunteer at Pequena Cruzada, one of the largest orphanage homes in Rio. The players will spend a couple of days working with the children  from the charity and teaching them the fundamentals of American Football. AFWB will be hosting a press conference for the media on Friday February 14th, 2014 in the JW Marriott Rio in Rio de Janeiro from 1-3 PM. The camp will be held on Saturday & Sunday, February 15th and 16th, from 9 AM to 5 PM on General Severiano, at the Botafogo soccer field –  Address: Av. Venceslau Brás, 80 – Botafogo. Jogadores da NFL promovem o futebol americano com uma mensagem humanitária no Brasil

 

A American Football Without Barriers está levando adiante uma mensagem humanitária e a missão de difundir o futebol americano nas comunidades carentes e ajudar a globalizar o esporte.

Depois de uma passagem de sucesso na China, em março de 2013, a American Football Without Barriers (AFWB) segue para o Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Além de eventos internacionais, a AFWB promove diversos camps nos EUA, ajudando as crianças carentes a praticar futebol americano. Neste ano, participarão da viagem ao Brasil 14 atletas da NFL, representando quatro times da liga, mais 1 representante da CFL (Canadian Football League). A AFWB promoverá uma coletiva de imprensa na sexta-feira, 14 de Fevereiro de 2014, das 13h às 15hs, no hotel JW Marriott Rio. O camp será realizado no Campo General Severiano – Botafogo nos dias 15 e 16 de Fevereiro, das 9h às 15hs.
